The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade

The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade is the Australian Government department responsible for managing Australia’s overseas aid program. Australia Awards is delivered under the Australian aid program, and continues a long tradition of development scholarships that have been an important component of the Australian Government’s overseas aid program since the 1950s.
