In order to take up the award, all Australia Awards Scholarships and Australia Awards Short Course candidates, the Australian Government (and in some cases African governments) must issue candidates with an appropriate student visa. For more information on Australian visas, visa application forms and the visa-related medical examinations, please visit the Department of Home Affairs (formerly the Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP)) at www.border.gov.au.
If you are awarded a Scholarship or Short Course Award, Palladium will assist you through the process of obtaining the necessary visas and will make travel arrangements on your behalf.
The visa application process for Masters Awards includes a requirement to undertake a medical examination. The results of this examination may affect your application. Palladium will advise you on where to undertake the medical examination and will reimburse you for the costs. Medical examinations are not ordinarily required for Short Course recipients.
The decision of the DIoHA on whether or not to issue a visa is completely independent of the selection process. If a visa is not issued, you will unfortunately not be able to take up the award.
