World Oceans Day, which is commemorated on 8 June 2017, is a global day of celebrating the ocean for a better future.
The oceans are essential to food security, health, and the survival of all life. They also power our climate and are a critical part of the biosphere. World Oceans Day is an opportunity to raise global awareness of the current challenges faced by the international community about the oceans.
