The program offers alumni a suite of offline and online professional development and networking opportunities and events. These may be hosted by DFAT, Palladium, alumni associations or other alumni groups such as Communities of Practice (COPs). These events are highly interactive and allow participants to share ideas and experiences thus strengthening their professional networks.
Every year the alumni engagement team organises and supports CPD events for alumni or invite alumni to attend existing international conferences in Africa. The Australia Awards Africa program also supports various Women in Leadership groups and alumni association leaders with capacity building initiatives from time to time.
As part of the program’s On-award Enrichment Plan, scholars in Australia may get the opportunity to attend Australian conferences (such as Africa Down Under) or are supported to deliver papers and present research posters at Australian conferences.
To improve your chance of being invited to some of these opportunities, please ensure that your latest employer, personal and contact information is updated on the alumni database. It is useful to make sure that your country alumni association membership is valid and current.
