Social inclusion

Australia Awards has adopted the collective term gender equality, disability and social inclusion (GEDSI) to refer to the management of gender equality, disability inclusion and chronic illnesses within the program. Social inclusion is about having the resources, opportunities and capabilities to learn, work and engage. It requires the removal of institutional barriers and the enhancement of incentives to increase access to opportunities and the participation of diverse individuals and groups (regardless of economic, geographic and ethnic factors).
