Africa Day commemorated

Africa Day is the annual global commemoration of the foundation of the Organisation of African Unity (OAU) (now known as the African Union) on 25 May 1963 . The 2017 theme is Harnessing the demographic dividend through investments in youth.

Investments made today in the youth, who represent Africa’s greatest asset, will determine the development trajectory of Africa over the next 50 years and position the continent towards realising the “Africa we want”, a strong, united and influential global player and partner as envisioned in Agenda 2030 for Sustainable Development.

Let us celebrate all things African and commit this day to harness our individual and collective capacity to build a strong, resilient Africa!
