Australian universities’ pursuit of excellence in higher education is demonstrated by a commitment to excellent research and teaching facilities, including state-of-the-art buildings, labs and lecture theatres.

The Australian higher education system consists of independent, self-governing public and private universities and higher education institutions that award higher education qualifications.

All higher education providers are listed on the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) Register of Recognised Institutions and Authorised Accreditation Authorities. This is a national system established by the Australian Government, which links courses and qualifications. The AQF is a strong national and international system that is accepted by industry, is consistent and transparent, and is quality assured by national agencies and audit processes that promote confidence and trust in the system.
